ISO meeting in Toronto

On the 25th of June 2025 David James attended the 12th meeting of ISO TC224WG10 that was held at Humber College, Toronto, Canada .The meeting was hybrid in format. This working group has been formed under ISO TC 224 “Drinking water, wastewater and stormwater systems and services”.

Twenty-six delegates joined the meeting from nine countries including delegations from Australia, Israel, United States, Canada, UK, Japan, South Korea, France, and Ireland. Liaison representatives from EDANA , INDA and TC224/SC6 also attended.

The meeting focused on discussion on comments received on Draft “ISO TS 18671 –. Test methodologies for assessing wet wipes and moist toilet tissue compatibility with the wastewater collection and treatment systems, and appropriate labelling.”

It is currently proposed that a negative “Do Not Flush” logo will be included within the draft TS. Output of the meeting was a revised text. The revised text will be circulated for national ballots as ISO/DTS 18671.2. A technical specification (TS) has a single ballot.

It is anticipated that the final draft will then be submitted to ISO in November 2025 and should then be published within 3 to 6 months.
